Catch A Fire
Catch A Fire, La Gran Joya De Bob Marley fue publicado el 13 de abril de 1973. El jamaicano Chris Blackwell, dueño de Island Records, publicaba el primer álbum en Europa de Bob Marley y su Wailers. Particularmente, este “Catch a fire” es mi favorito, con la sublime “Stir it up”.
Bob Marley se había mudado a Suecia para trabajar con Johnny Nash, escribiendo y componiendo canciones para la banda sonora de la película Want So Much To Believe. De noviembre a diciembre de 1971, Marley and the Wailers realizaron una gira por Gran Bretaña con Nash. Incluso Columbia Records lanzó un sencillo de los Wailers “Reggae on Broadway” ,producido por Nash.
Después de la gira, Marley , la banda no tenía fondos para regresar a Jamaica, ni podían ganar dinero debido a restricciones de permisos de trabajo.Marley le pidió a su road manager en Londres, Brent Clarke, que los pusiera en contacto con Chris Blackwell de Island Records., que había lanzado sencillos de los Wailers en Gran Bretaña. Blackwell le dio a Marley un adelanto para ayudarlos a regresar a Jamaica y grabar su próximo álbum. El álbum lo grabó en el estudio Harry J´s de Jamaica.
